LA River restoration

Officials are moving ahead with a major revitalization of the Los Angeles River – removing miles of concrete along its banks and re-greening areas now covered with pavement. But the project raises an intriguing question: Just how much of an urban river can be returned to nature?

Wow, cool. We have destroyed 99 percent of California’s freshwater marshes and while I promote small-scale restoration in people’s own backyards with my Pool2Pond system, a Billion Dollar Plus project in the LA River is also a cool thing. Look at the slider in the “proposed” versus “now” images and move it back and forth. A very cool way to present the proposed system. Best to everyone. The restoration of wetland habitats is crucial.
