Good morning my friends!

There are now over 3,300 California products that the california department of pesticide regulation? (cdpr) actively hides the ingredients from the public. The active ingredients in these products are now grouped under a newly derived chem code that cannot even be searched for in the California department of pesticide regulations new, improved, and safe from downloading database.
These chemicals are sprayed in our forests, wilderness areas, and national parks. The cdpr has approved them but then hides from the public; specifically you, this large group containing endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, forever chemicals, and even neurotoxins all in the name of protecting big business. They need to protect big businesses’ “proprietary” toxins, as opposed to protecting you, or our environment, and certainly not our native forest animals
The cdpr has utterly lost it in the last 4 or so years. Who is at the helm? I asked the cdpr and the cdpr’s parent organization (Cal EPA) in a public records act request about who at these organizations had oversight of their public records act (PRA) responses and three CalEPA and cdpr lawyers passed it between themselves and
nobody else.
The cdpr is wildly incapable of monitoring even the spelling of toxic chemical labeling. The cdpr doesn’t want me to call them pesticides because the cdpr has decided that adjuvants aren’t pesticides even though many claim a “target pest”. Hmmmm isn’t killing a target “pest” pretty much the actual definition of a pest…i…cide.

I am amazed at how the cdpr is building this double standard. They want to have their cake and eat it too. Where would we be if in the 70s the original director of the cdpr chose to hide the actual chemical nature of the pesticides because they were “proprietary”.
Anyone want to bet whether the cdpr solves this by simply and quickly removing the “target pest” line 😄 in their new and improved database.

But back to the spelling. A big chemical company just rewrote their label; there is a misspelling that masks the fact that the product contains endocrine disruptors and carcinogens and the cdpr didn’t blink.
The cdpr may be racist (Farmworker communities and environmental justice groups have accused the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) of environmental racism and discriminatory policymaking) but there’s no doubt in my mind that they are making you, your kids, your grandkids, and our native animals very sick.

I would suggest to the cdpr that they simply suck up their gut and admit that they’ve been somewhat less than adequate, and that they’ll do better now with less sloppiness and hiding of information. Simply post a zip file of your _full_ chem code database with all the misspellings and duplicate code numbers and and yes, even the same code for different chemicals, and let the community _help_ you move forward.

We absolutely need some square foot of American soil where the government regulating agency is not in bed with the regulated.
We need Non-toxic chem free zones. And let us give the “invasive” species back to the woodpeckers, bats, and our native insectivores and herbivores. Get the toxins out of our California wilderness.

We desperately need
#ChemFreeZones
Especially around our schools!
Please ask our environmental organizations to provide basic information on what pesticides the national parks are spraying.
