Migratory Bird Habitat Shrinking In California

This is the time of year when tens of thousands of migrating shorebirds flock to the Sacramento Valley. But places for the birds to make their pit stop along the Pacific Flyway is shrinking.

If you converted your chlorinated toxic pool to a natural pond you would be providing habit for migratory birds and the native organisms and creatures in your own backyard.

Such as

Bats

I have the best job

Dragonflies damselflies and multi-layer mosquito defense :-)

Tadpoles and eggs

Think about converting your pool to an oasis.

Documents Reveal Monsanto and Regulator’s ‘Outrageous’ Relationship

Newly unsealed court documents detail “outrageous” communications between Monsanto employees and an EPA regulator over the safety of a controversial chemical found in the seed company’s top weed killer, advocates say.

Why do people believe that big chemical companies are so much better, different, and honest than cigarette companies?

Oh and by the way because of a conversation I got into Yesterday here are a couple of links if you believe that oats are so much better because they are not GMO.

Here is another one where they have actually looked at residue in the food.

A report prepared for the European Parliament, co-authored by Harvard Chan School’s Philippe Grandjean, adjunct professor of environmental health, outlines the health benefits of eating organic food and practicing organic agriculture.

researchers found that women’s exposure to pesticides during pregnancy, measured through urine samples, was associated with negative impacts on their children’s IQ and neurobehavioral development, as well as with ADHD [attention deficit hyperactivity disorder]

I have thought for a long time that it was likely that the neurotoxic effect of pesticides could affect the neurons and neurochemistry in our own bodies. Here is a report that backs that up with some data.

Scientist for hire? Does anti-neonic activist David Goulson produce pre-determined ‘research’ for funders? | Genetic Literacy Project

Leading UK sustainability researcher embroiled in a scandal over alleged manipulation of European bee health advisory group takes NGO advocacy money to support “independent” research–for which he has already announced his conclusions.

anti-GMO groups coordinate their messaging, often working with pro-organic scientists who have shown a willingness to deliver studies supporting the industry that funds them while dissing biotechnology research.

I am so, so laughing. The source of the headlines and article is the genetic literacy project. The name sounds so truthful. Oh but they are funded by Monsanto and they’re accusing _others_ of paid research? I’m so, so laughing.

My friends, at the same time there is not one truth. There is no such thing as fake news. It’s only people trying to manipulate you to their way of thinking. And as our advertising industry has grown, and grown, and grown, the manipulation no longer has any morals to it.

My friends take a microbiology class. Learn some facts. Learn about your own biological body. Learn to think. And then, and only then, have an opinion on GMOs, how to control your diet, whether other humans should be forced to vaccinate, whether stem cell research is the most horrific thing on the face of the planet, etc, etc.

Learn some facts, and then doubt everything you _know_.
