Dorothy Day and 39 other women went to prison to try to obtain the right to vote in 1917. Equal rights and treating our fellow human beings with respect must be a fundamental characteristic of sustainability. Dorothy: thank you from the Y chromosome side.<\/p>\n

\nAnd equal rights is not a zero-sum game. The gain in rights for women did not cost me any of my rights.<\/p>\n
